Learn How to Customize a Car

Learn How to Customize a Car

Recently I found out something about my fiance that I did not know before. As it turns out, he is a car enthusiast. Well he at least is enthused by his car. So he decided he wanted to learn how to customize a car…himself.

As we embarked on this journey together, I realized something, anybody can customize a car. Even if you have never done it before, as in our case, you can find that there is plenty of information out there for people who wish to have a show room looking car in their driveway. Not only that, I found out that you do not have to spend a ton of money to do it. So we began to research ways to start this process.

I learned that first you should detail your car. This is way more involved than just washing it. You clean every little aspect of your car, inside, outside, even under the hood. You know what? As far as I was concerned, we could have been done. The car looked better than ever. It was like it was brand new. But we were not done. This just helped us to better see what we were working with. Besides the next aspect that we covered when we customized our car required a vigorous cleaning of it.

After you have detailed the car, you start adding things to the body to highlight the cars attributes. You can add decals or graphics to the car to give it a different style and look. When you customize a car, you are reflecting your own personal style and personality onto the car. There are so many to choose from that anyone can find what they are looking for. We even added graphics to the side of the car that I had thought before could only be done by professionals. This is something else that I learned in this process; retailers know that car customization is becoming a do it yourself job and they are designing their products for the lay men that are doing these things. So the products will usually come with great instructions to guide you through each process.

Next we moved to the interior of the car. The things that you can do in there are easy as well. You can change your gear shift to a custom gear shift. This only involves changing a few screws, its quite simple in fact. There are also seat covers that help to give the car its own special look. We were able to upgrade the inside by getting a roll of carbon fiber that had a sticky back to it and we cut it fit the areas we wanted it to. So now the dashboard is customized, too.

In the engine we gave it a whole new look. You can do this by getting silicon tubing in the color of your choice. After shining up the engine, change out the old, plain black wiring for the new silicon wiring. The same goes for the exhaust hoses. That way when the outside of your car looks good and it prompts people to ask whats under the hood, you are prepared to show them something nice.

There are other things you can do to boost the horsepower and further upgrade your car. When you customize a car the options are endless. No matter how simple or extreme you wish to go, there is a way. For the most part, you can do all of the work yourself no matter what level of experience you have.

Go ahead and get started learning how to customize a car. Whether you are a novice or a professional, there is always more to learn and more ways to learn it. Our car looks as if a professional had done all the work but we did it. You can get a professional outcome when you customize a car too.
